My Story

Me with lumpy acne
I guess it was when I hit about age 13 that my acne started. One day I was fine, then what felt like a week later I had full-on, lumpy red pimples everywhere.
Already a rather self-conscious 13 year-old, my acne did nothing to help this. As you can see from my pictures, I tried all sorts of really awful hair styles, hair colours, makeup and clothing to hide it (how I thought an extremely bad perm would help I’m not sure…). Of course nothing did and I just looked worse.
I went to my doctor and was told to cut out the sweets and it would get better. I didn’t, and it didn’t (I love my sweets!).
About a year later I went on the first of several drug and antibiotic courses to get rid of these pimples that just kept getting worse. Each different medicine helped a bit but as soon as I finished the course, my pimples would just come back with a vengence. I was even more self-conscious and felt like my skin was never going to get better.

Another pic of me with acne
Finally several years later, after me continually begging him, my doctor put me on Roaccutane. Turns out he was right that it was a strong drug! My lips peeled off, my face flaked off, and my skin split every time I knocked it. I took to wearing vaseline directly on my face to stop it hurting so much. Needless to say it was one of the most painful things I have ever tried and that when I finished the course my acne slowly crept back again.
So by this point I’d had enough. My doctor (as wonderful as he is) just couldn’t help. So I started on my ‘quest’. I learnt all I could about skincare and acne! At one point in my early 20s I even bought a small beauty salon and did all the advanced skincare courses I could find.
Slowly, bit by bit I built up my knowledge (and my therapy qualifications!). It was when I delved into skin physiology and the relationship between oil-flow and blood sugar, that I really started working out what my skin needed and getting lasting results.
Nowdays I’ve narrowed it down to a pretty specific formula and I’m on a new quest to share my knowledge and help others get acne-free! And that quest is SkinAid…
Why SkinAid?

Me with clear skin today
Well, once I’d worked out how to get rid of my acne, I turned it into a step-by-step 8 week program and then wrote it all down into an e-book. The idea behind this SkinAid site is to get that book out to the world.
Having suffered from acne myself, I get it. I really understand how emotionally and physically painful it can be. And quite frankly I just can’t bear seeing other suffering needlessly like that.
Armed with the information in the SkinAid book, there’s categorically no need for anyone to suffer with acne for a minute longer. It’s my mission to get this help and support out there.
I see a future where acne as a problem is no more. And in that future anyone who gets acne knows exactly what to do and how to do it, to get rid of it. Join me in transforming the way the world see’s acne and in erradicating it from Britain and the world!
To your clear skin success,

Rebecca Page
