How Does SkinAid Work?

You sign up & download our free SkinAid Challenge E-book.  In the book it explains exactly what to do and how to do it to get rid of your acne once and for all.

Where do I get my free SkinAid Challenge E-book from?

You need to signup first.  Once you’ve signed up you’ll get an email with your login details for your admin area.  Your book is in your admin area.  Just login, download it and get started.

How long will it take to get rid of my acne?

It totally depends on your skin and how specifically you follow the program.  For some people it takes the whole 8 weeks to get acne free.  Others have clear skin within literally 1-2 weeks.  We’d recommend allowing the whole 8 weeks and if it goes earlier then all the better.

Will I ever get acne again?

Again it does depend on your skin.  If you’ve got acne-prone skin you may find you still get regular breakouts.  But the difference will be that now you’ll know how to deal with them and you’ll be able to stop them before they get going.  Or you may find the opposite – that once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.

Will I need any skincare products?

Yes.  The products you’ll need are very simple – a cleanser, moisturiser and benzoyl peroxide treatment gel).  You should be able to get these relatively cheaply and easily from your local pharmacy or skincare therapist.  You’ll get a complete Shopping List (including what ingredients to look out for and those to avoid) with your SkinAid Challenge E-book.

Do I have to buy the products on your site?

Categorically not.  We’ve searched high and low to find the best products out there and have put them for sale on our website for anyone who would rather not have to go out and find them themselves.  If you want to take advantage of that, great.  If not, no worries.  You’ll get a complete Shopping List with your SkinAid e-book so you can just pop out and get them yourself at your local store.  There’s not need to buy anything from us if you don’t want to.

What if I’m allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide?

It’s only a very very small percentage of the population that is allergic to benzoyl peroxide.  If you are, please do not use anything with this ingredient in it, but instead get on our forums and see the advice given for completing the program without using benzoyl peroxide.

I have acne on my body/back/shoulders.  Can I do SkinAid?

Absolutely yes.  The SkinAid Challenge works on acne anywhere.  Some parts of your skin are more delicate than others and require special looking after so please do check the Body Acne section of your SkinAid Challenge book.  But the bottom line is yes you can.  It doesn’t matter whether your acne is on your face, shoulders, back, chest or neck.  The treatment is the same for all areas.

Is there any difference treating different skin tones/colours/types?

Most of the time no.  The basic treatment for acne is usually the same no matter what skin type, colour or tone you have.  The book goes through this but if you have a particular skin condition or concerns, please get on our forums and get some personalised advice.

I have Acne Rosacea.  Can I do SkinAid?

Again absolutely yes.  However the instructions and product Shopping List is slightly different if you suffer from Acne Rosacea.  Please make sure to read the chapter on Acne Rosacea at the back of the e-book when you get it.

I’ve got adult acne.  Is this any different to teenage acne?

Yes and no.  The causes of adult acne vs teenage acne can be slightly different but the treatment is usually the same.  You can do SkinAid at nearly any age, you just must be above 16 years old.  If you are below 16, please check with your doctor before doing SkinAid.

Do I need to change my diet?

Possibly.  It depends what your diet is like at the moment.  There’s a whole chapter on what types of foods can help your skin in the book and also how to structure your diet for the best possible skin health.

What about exercise?

It’s highly advisable to do some form of exercise while doing the SkinAid Challenge.  Exercise helps the health of your skin, which is critical in keeping acne at bay.  Don’t panic, you don’t have to start running marathons or anything if you don’t want to but do make sure to read the chapter about exercise and how it affects your skin in the book.

Who created SkinAid?

Rebecca Page (formally Rebecca Kepple before she got married to her wonderful husband in early 2009).  She suffered from terrible acne as a teenager & young adult and spent a lot of time, energy and money working out how to get rid of it.  Once she did, she wrote a book and now this has become the SkinAid Challenge book.

Who runs SkinAid?

Rebecca Page and her incredibly dedicated and enthusiastic team of skincare & health experts.  They work very hard moderating the forums, answering questions and generally giving you all the help and support you need.  Nearly everyone is a volunteer.  Why?  Because skincare is our passion and we are dedicated to eradicating it forever.

I’m a skincare/health expert.  Can I get involved?

Yes, please do!  If you’re a beauty therapist, skincare professional, health professional or exercise specialist please go to http://skinaid.org.uk/forums/topic/getting-started-im-a-skincare-or-health-professional to see how to get started and what’s in it for you.

Can I buy the SkinAid Challenge book somewhere?

Not yet.  We’re hoping very soon that it will be available as a physical print book that you can buy and keep on your bookcase (or in your bathroom!).  If you are (or happen to know a publisher), do get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.  In the meantime you can get the e-book version free by signing up to SkinAid then just print it out if you wish to.

Why are you giving the book and all this help away free?

Simply put… we’re on a mission to eradicate acne from Britain and the world.  Acne is so incredibly simple to get rid of and quite frankly we don’t believe anyone should suffer from it in this day and age.  We see a future where anyone who gets acne immediately knows what to do & how to do it to get rid of it.  Full stop.  End of story.
